My sister-in-law lived far away, and wasn't able to make it to her hometown for a bridal shower. The ladies at the church still wanted to throw her a shower. So my mom and sister came up with the idea of having a Red Carpet Movie Bridal Shower Theme. The room was set up just like it would be in Hollywood, with a red carpet and all. We had two directors chairs placed at the end of the red carpet. There was a backdrop of a star, like in the Hollywood Walk of Fame, with the bride's name on it. The mom of the bride sat in one chair, and opened all the gifts. Each person would walk the red carpet and give it to the mother to open. The whole shower was video taped. This gave a chance for people to say something to the bride if they wanted. The lady who videotaped the event, made it like a movie. She added music to it, and credits at the end. Several of the guests even did some crazy dancing at the end to make the bride laugh. For refreshments we had popcorn, candy, soda, and little hot dogs...just like the things you would get at a concession stand at the movies. It was a very fun and different bridal shower theme. I would definitely recommend it for a bride who lives long distance.
