Welcome
Golf Theme Couples Shower
A Golf Theme Couples Shower is the perfect choice for the pair who enjoy this activity. Indoors or out, it is a great time of year to use this theme.
Start with your invitations. Choose a design that relates to your theme, such as a golfer, club or tee. If you're having it at a golf club, they may have post cards you can write all your info on. Tell guests to wear casual or "preppy" clothing.
The shower location may be an actual golf course. Guests could play a round of golf, followed by a luncheon. This idea may not work for a mixed group or large crowd. Then, create your theme in a private home or rented hall.
Decorations: use pictures of famous or local golf courses. Use actual golf balls, clubs, bags, towels, and tees. Place around the room, and on tables. Plaid tablecloths could be used (plaid material by the yard, can be found at fabric stores). Shades of green, yellow, red, and white work well for balloons, streamers, or flowers.
Sit your golf theme favors
around, to add to your decorations.
Use golf theme plates, napkins, and cups,
for easy clean-up.
Have plenty of cold drinks available...soda, lemonade, iced tea, and bottled water. Don't forget the ice!
Cardinal Punch (Non-alcoholic)
4 ounces cranberry juice
2 ounces orange juice
1 ounce lemon juice
Chilled ginger ale
Slices of orange and lemon
The above is for one serving. Increase ingredients by the number of guests.
Pour the fruit juices into a bowl and stir. Add ginger ale. Garnish with orange and lemon slices.
Snacks
Sit around bowls of chips and dip, pretzels, and nuts.
For your main meal, how about a bagged lunch idea, like they have for golf outings? You can asemble the following in a colorful bag or basket.
Ham and cheese sandwich (or any other cold cut combo)
Bag of chips or pretzels
Packet of mayo, and mustard
Sliced pickle
Package of cookies
Italian Hoagie Recipe
2 teaspoons red wine vinegar
1 tablespoon dried oregano
1 tablespoon olive oil
4 hoagie rolls
1/4 lb prosciutto, thinly sliced
1/4 lb capicola, thinly sliced
1/4 lb salami, thinly sliced
1/4 lb provolone cheese
1 large tomato, thinly sliced
1 small onion, thinly sliced
1/8 cup shredded lettuce
Slice the rolls lengthwise, but not all the way through. Put the vinegar and oregano in a small bowl, and slowly add the oil until all is blended. Brush some of the olive oil mixture onto bread. Layer the meats, first, then the cheese. Then place tomatoes, and onions. Top with the lettuce. Add more of the dressing, if desired.
Ambrosia Fruit Salad
8 ounces Cool Whip, thawed
2 1/2 cups shredded coconut
1/2 cup walnuts
8 ounces fruit cocktail, drained
8 ounces pineapple chunks, drained
11 ounces mandarin oranges, drained
3 cups miniature marshmallows
10 ounces maraschino cherries, drained (optional)
Mix all of the ingredients. Refrigerate for 30-45 minutes. Yields: 12 servings
Whats for Dessert?
Turn a homemade rectangular cake into a golf green, by adding color to your icing in a kidney shape. Then top with golf themed figures, sold with cake decorating supplies at most craft stores, or online. Your local bakery also creates theme cakes. Just ask!
Fruit and Whipped Topping
sliced bananas
sliced strawberries
whipped topping
Put whipped topping in a bowl in the center of a serving tray. If you'd like, add instant cocoa powder, to taste, for a chocolaty flavor. Surround with fruit. Serve with toothpicks.
There is no set golf theme music. Golf started in Scotland. If you want to be authentic, you can play bagpipe music. Choosing favorites of the couple is also a good idea.
A golf couples shower is a fun theme that all guests will enjoy.
